I have said this before and I will say it again . . . Thank you ladies for doing this with me! You keep me going and I appreciate that! My parents are coming into town on Friday and I hope to still eat good but I also think that the diet wagon might break down for 1 night. Hopefully it doesn't need to many repairs :) So until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!

Katie Day 31
Hello Day 31 so nice to see you! :) Kaisi - welcome back! Today was another nice day, although I didn't get much walking in I think walking around Costco should sorta count :) I don't really know what I did today as my day is pretty much a blur, but it sure did go by fast! I had my usual breakfast and for lunch I had leftover spaghetti. Dinner was YUMMO as we had Tri Tip, asparagus, salad, and for dessert chocolate strawberry shortcake. Around 9ish I wanted some chocolate so I had my low cal hot chocolate and again it hit the spot. I know that I have had it for 2 nights in a row and I really like it. But I also know that I don't want to drink it every night as that can't be very good for me all the time. For a midmorning snack I had one of those lemon cakes for 90 calories, thanks Shelley for introducing them to me! I have pretty much told you exactly what I have eaten today and I don't want to sound redundant so I will just tell you that I consumed 1210 calories today. I too had a very good food day!
Kaisi: Day 31
Hi everyone!. Today has been a pretty normal day. I have been SOOOO tired lately and can't seem to get enough sleep, so I slept in a bit this morning. I ended up having breakfast around 10. I had a fried egg on a sandwich thin with avocado. It was really yummy. Around lunch time I made myself a sandwich and cut up some watermelon. Also, very yummy! For my snack today I had a skinny cow ice cream. I had started to eat it last night, but Marc told me it would be better to eat during the day rather then at night time right before I am going to bed, so I popped it back in the freezer for a snack today. Around dinner time I had not worked out and I was getting hungry. I figured Sadie could use some fresh air and I could use the workout, so we walked to Subway for dinner. She was so good walking there and back and it was a yummy low calorie dinner. For dessert I had a Fiber One Brownie. Also, delicious. As you can tell I had a very yummy meal day and I don't feel like I really blew it on calories. Here are my stats for the day...
Breakfast: Fried Egg on sandwich thin with avocado and 8oz milk.
Lunch: Turkey and Ham sandwich thin with avocado. watermelon. 4 shrimp. 6 triscuts.
Snack: Skinny cow ice cream.
Dinner: 6" turkey and ham sami from Subway with chicken noodle soup.
Dessert: Fiber One Brownie

Shelley: Day 30
Kaite, I loved reading your post! It's so good to hear/read your enthusiasm. I'm so glad we all decided to do this together. It's been so much more effective and fun! Also, since we share so many meals it's nice that we're both on the same page. Dieting with friends is the way to go for sure!
2oz canned chicken with freeze dried red onion, dill relish, carrots, mustard and light ranch dressing (200cal)
One Serving of Cheese-its (yeah, I know, but I didn't have any other snacks and I was ready to eat the steering wheel), (150cal)
Squash, two chicken patties, & pineapple (535cal)
Kaisi, I can't wait until you get back. We are long overdue for a BBQ. Drive Safe!
I have been thinking a lot and I can't believe how quickly my little guy has grown up. In only two days he'll be a year old! Where do the hours go??? I'm really grateful I'm working not to spend any more time feeling annoyed that I'm a chunkster. The saying that you're either moving forward or backward is so true. There really isn't such a thing as stationary in life or dieting.
Today, most of my calories were consumed in the afternoon because I was so busy with the little guy. I shared a banana with my little guy for breakfast (he also had a bread and cream cheese sami) and meant to get something else for myself but didn't get around to it. I was so busy I didn't eat much at all until dinner when I was sooooo hungry. Thank goodness Katie and crew had a yummy meal waiting for us! I brought some weight watchers treats for dessert that are one of my favorite things when I'm craving cake-like stuff. They come in two flavors, lemon and chocolate and I kind of love the lemon more. I know, hard to believe, especially coming from me. So, all in all, another great day!
Today's Food Summary:
Breakfast:
A shared banana with my little man (75cal), I'm taking ownership of all the cals as I don't think he ate that much.
Snack:
Missed my AM snack.
Lunch:
Snack:
Dinner:
1 weight watchers cake (80cal)
Snack:
Costco Frozen Yogurt Shared with my husband, again I'll take ownership of all the cals because I like to estimate high (390cal)
BMR CALC: 1691-1530=161 Deficit (I added 100cal for misc snitches of my little guy's food.)
(For an explanation please see Shelley: Day 1 Post) Also, I updated my BMR from 1760 to 1691. As I lose weight that number will continue to fall.
Until Tomorrow. . .
Katie Day 30
What a great day!! I have some great news . . . For the 1st time in a very long time I weigh less then my husband!! Yes thats right I now weigh LESS! HIP HIP HOORAY!!! I feel sooooo good! For anyone out there reading this and feeling discouraged about dieting let me tell you COUNTING CALORIES IS THE WAY TO GO! It is super easy with myfitnesspal and I still can't get over how much I can eat while dieting. In fact I don't really feel like Im on a diet I just feel like I am making better choices on what I eat.
Today for lunch I went to In n Out and had a hamburger protein style (so no bun) and I asked them to not put on the spread. I just had grilled onions and ketchup and mustard. It was good and only 240 calories. Dinner was DELICIOUS we had grilled zucchini, grilled pineapple, chicken burgers (no bun), and salad. I was super satisfied and full and it was a lot of food and only 392 calories. A few minutes ago I thought hot chocolate sounded good. So I had some and it was GREAT! I used the Nestle fat free cocoa thats 20 calories for 2 Tbs. I like chocolate as we all know so I put in 3 Tbs then I put in 1 Tbs of marshmallow cream and 2 Tbs of light whipped cream (the kind you spray). It all came to 57 calories and totally hit the spot! I think the major thing that I am learning while on this diet is that I can still eat great but now I am so much smarter about what I consume. I am NEVER going back to how I used to eat! Here's what I ate today :
Breakfast : Cheerios, Skim Milk, 1/2 Banana 203 calories
Lunch: In N Out Protein Style Hamburger 240 calories
Dinner : Chicken Burger, Salad, Zucchini, Pineapple 392 calories
Snacks : Fiber One Brownie, Chocolate Cream Cake (weight watchers and so good), Hot Chocolate 237 calories
Again I just want to say that if you are discouraged about dieting just start counting calories. Believe me I have never liked the idea of a diet and have never done it right until now. This is the way to go! So until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!

Shelley: Day 29
Hello Day 29! I had a very active day thanks mostly to Katie. We decided yesterday to take a long walk today and we actually followed through. I headed over to Katie's around 1:30pm and we got home around 5:00pm (though we did stop at a park to give the boys a snack and stretch their legs).
White Castle Burger (110cal)
Quizno's turkey & cheese Sami (200cal)
My usual at Panera, except I ate more of the bread than I usually do (450), I Cannot get enough of their Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup!!!!
It was kind of a weird food day today. I didn't eat much at all until later in the day and I had a bought of super hunger that not only made me grumpy but probably led me to eat a bit more than I should have. I didn't break the wagon by heading to In-N-Out or anything but I did eat more than I was hoping I would.
I did however have a frozen White Castle Burger (they are 110 cal each) because they were at the grocery store and I have been curious what the big deal is about. Turns out. . .nothing, not even worth the 110 cal. Fortunately I only had one but it didn't really fill me up so I supplemented with Chicken Broth, my favorite go-to filler.
Half way through our walk my wienie lunch was not cutting it so we stopped by Quizno's where I got a kid's turkey and cheese sami. Yummy, filling, and only 200cal. I gave the cookie that came with it to Dan (Katie's Hubby). Fortunately, Dan's stomach is a garbage disposal;0).
Today's Food Summary:
Breakfast:
1 Cup of broth and 1.5oz of left over Pot Roast (150 cal)
Snack:
Missed my AM snack.
Lunch:
Garden Salad dressed with red wine vinegar (80cal)
Snack:
Dinner:
Snack:
A weight watcher lemon cake (80cal)
BMR CALC: 1691-1370=321 Deficit (I added 300cal for misc snitches of my little guy's food.)
(For an explanation please see Shelley: Day 1 Post) Also, I updated my BMR from 1760 to 1691. As I lose weight that number will continue to fall.
Katie and I walked together so ditto the calorie count. Things are looking good. I just need to do a better job of snacking to keep my metabolism rolling.
Until Tomorrow. . .
Katie Day 29
First off way to go everyone! I think we are all doing so good and I am so pumped about this weight loss! I'm so glad we did this! I know I say that a lot but I truly mean it!!
Ok that being said today was a tough day! It started out fine and I had my usual breakfast. My little guy has been teething and so today was one of our roughest days as he was EXTREMELY fussy this morning. SO around 10ish we went for a drive as I thought that would help him fall asleep and I could listen to Harry Potter in the car. That didn't happen and he cried and cried and cried until I pulled into a parking lot and let him sit with me in the front seat. That calmed him down and then I put him back into his carseat as it is not safe to drive with him on my lap. The crying began again, but this time he cried himself to sleep. Need I mention the parking lot was Carls Jr so of course I had to get a Diet Dr Pepper :) We drove around for a while and then picked up Dan for lunch. And then the trouble began . . .
I was too tired to go home and fix lunch so we decided to go to Quiznos and have a sandwich as I could count the calories there easily. However we couldn't find a parking space so we went somewhere else. I was getting in a bad mood. The places we went to had huge lines and so in frustration we went into Premier Pizza. Yes I had pizza for lunch! Bad I know and I ate the whole huge piece! It was way good but I am sure waaaay bad! We looked up the calories on line but they weren't there so we looked up a Papa Johns pizza and figured my slice was about the same amount of calories and calculated that my pizza slice probably came to about 700 calories.
After lunch Shelley and her little guy came over and we went for a long walk! It felt awesome and helped put me in a better mood! Thanks Crofts!!! For dinner we had Chicken burgers (no bun), grilled eggplant, and grilled nectarines. The grilled nectarines were sooo good! Here is my estimated caloric breakdown for today :
Breakfast : Cinnamon Burst Cheerios, Skim Milk 200 calories
Lunch : Chipotle Chicken Pizza 1 slice :( 700 calories?
Dinner : Grilled Eggplant (2.5 oz) Sweet Caramelized Onion Chicken Burger, Grilled Nectarine 227 calories
Snacks : None cause of my pizza :(
Exercise : Walking 381 calories burned
I know this is an early post, but I am done eating for the day thanks to the pizza and Dan is taking the computer to study. SO until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!
Kaisi: Day 29/30
Hi ladies, I have missed you!. I left my diet there for a few days and wasn't sure I'd ever make it back, but here I am. I thought it would be a piece of cake to come back home and jump back onto my routine because I didn't fall to far off the wagon for to long, but let me tell ya.... it's hard coming back!. I got a Subway sandwich yesterday (you all know how I love those) and I am a bit ashamed to say I ate the whole foot long. I ate my usual 6", but I was still starving like 10 minutes later so I caved and ate the other half rather then having the munchies the rest of the night. I am happy to say my weight didn't jump up over the weekend. With all the wedding cake I had I thought I would be back to square one, so I am glad that didn't happen. I didn't loose much, but I didn't gain either so I guess that is an okay cheat weekend. I meant to workout all day/night yesterday, but I just didn't have time and I was SO tired so I didn't fight to have the time. Getting back on the workout bandwagon will be rough. Now on to today. I am falling in love with avocado (thanks to my mother in law) and I love it with my eggs in the morning or my sandwich in the afternoon. It just adds a little something. I had a very filling lunch, so I don't see much snacking happening the rest of the day. I plan to go to Zumba tonight, so hopefully I make myself follow through. I don't really have a full day of stats since it's mid day, so I will fill you in on my breakfast/lunch and some of the naughty things I had this weekend.
Breakfast: 2 eggs with avocado a toasted sandwich thin and 8oz of milk.
Snack: 1 banana.
Lunch: A turkey and ham sandwich thin with avocado and provolone cheese. 6 shrimp and a few bites of pineapple.
Over the weekend I had 2 or 3 pieces of wedding cake (it was to die for!)
A hamburger
French Fries
Pizza
Cookies
Diet Coke
Bagels (with cream cheese of course)
So as you can tell I didn't hold back AT ALL. Next vacation I will have to be better at that. Here are my measurements and weigh in.

Bi-Weekly Group Update
Our competition is based on percentage of weight loss, so here are the current standings:
Kaisi: 10.1lbs Lost, 6% (Kaisi's number might be based on old info as she has been traveling so I may update this number tomorrow).
Shelley: 16.8lbs Lost, 8%
Katie: 13.7lbs Lost, 7.7%
Katie is picking up speed. I've got to get it together to prevent her completely lapping me! Sadly, we haven't posted pictures yet but you should know Katie is looking amazing! I haven't seen Kaisi in a while but she was looking pretty good too when I saw her last. I'll keep you posted!
Bring it on ladies! Keep the fire alive!
Katie Day 28
What is it about Sundays that makes me want to eat and eat and eat? Thank heavens we went to church so I was out of the house and not tempted to eat badly! I had my normal breakfast and lunch today. Then for dinner we had pot roast and salad. It was WAY YUMMY! Thanks Shelley! I had a mini cupcake for dessert and felt satisfied. But by the time it was 8:30 I was super duper hungry!! I wanted a huge bowl of spaghetti! But I knew I couldn't do that so I had a cup of cheerios with some milk. It hit the spot! Here is my food/calorie break down for today :
Breakfast : Cinnamon Cheerios and Skim Milk 200 Calories
Lunch : Chicken Sandwich Thin, laughing cow cheese, pickle 170 calories
Dinner : Potroast, veggies, salad 425 calories
Snacks : granola thin, apple slices, mini cupcake, cinnamon cheerios, 1/2 cup skim milk 385 calories
Well both of my boys are fast asleep so I think I shall do the same. Until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!
Shelley: Day 28
A pretty simple day today. Sleep in, (yep, Will slept in with us!!!!!), church, din din. Will was so adorable at church. He opened up a hymn book and gently turned the pages. He didn't scrunch any of them!
Pasta Salad (100cal)
2oz Canned Chicken, 1tsp light ranch, celery, dill relish and mustard to dress it up (150cal)
Busy at church, not so much as a cheerio!
Simple garden salad w/red wine vinegar and Italian seasoning, no oil (100cal)
I have to admit, I had a serious battle with myself a few minutes ago because all I wanted to do was munch. So I heated up some broth and I feel nice and full for only 10 calories!
I really want a 15 cal sugar-free popsicle but that would most definitely wake up the little guy so I'll hold off until tomorrow.
Today's Food Summary:
Breakfast:
2oz of Fresh Low-Fat Mozerella Cheese (120cal)
1Tbsp of Balsamic Vinigar (10cal)
1 small tomato (30cal)
Snack:
Lunch:
Snack:
Dinner:
Crock-pot Roast with Onions, Carrots and Celery (no potatoes because I knew I wouldn't resist!) (325cal)
Katie's Low Cal Cupcake (120cal)
Snack:
Good old fashioned fat free, low sodium broth. It hits the spot every time and helps me get in some liquid. (10cal)
BMR CALC: 1691-1265=426 Deficit (I added 300cal for misc snitches of my little guy's food.)
(For an explanation please see Shelley: Day 1 Post) Also, I updated my BMR from 1760 to 1691. As I lose weight that number will continue to fall.
I'm feeling really good about yesterday and today and not deprived at all! All I have to do is control my snacking urges and I should be good to go. Katie are going for a much needed walk tomorrow. I'm seriously looking forward to it!
Until tomorrow. . .

Katie Day 27
I cannot believe we have been doing this for almost one month! I put on my capri's today and they were loose!! I am so excited! I did good today but tonight was rough. Its just been my little man and me today and tonight I was lonely. When I am lonely I want to eat!! So I snacked a bit more then I should have and ate 1302 calories :( Oh well, I did stop myself from going way over though! So here is what I ate today:
Breakfast : Cinnamon Burst Cheerios, Skim Milk 110 calories
Lunch : James and I went to Panera, 360 calories
Dinner : Spaghetti (really I made this for James as it is his favorite and so much fun to watch him enjoy it) 331 calories
Snacks : Choco Cupcakes (2 I couldn't resist, but they were spread out throughout the day) Apple Slices, Granola Thin Crisps (3 I may have to throw these out, the are only 80 calories but I want to eat the whole box) 501 calories
Well I am going to go to bed. Until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!
Shelley: Day 27
Sorry about missing yesterday. Jason's parents were in town and we didn't part until it was pretty late and I decided it was best to crash because I knew today would be another big day. Because we were so busy I consumed only 930cal yesterday. Not good. That's no way to keep one's metabolism rolling. It's definitely much healthier to consume between 1200-1500cal/day. The last thing I need is to signal to my body that I'm going into a famine and it needs to cling to every calorie possible.
We ate breakfast kind of late so we headed to lunch.
I was so full from lunch I skipped this too.
My usual from Panera, Soup and Salad (350cal)
Today we went to the park for some serious fun. We went to Thaimen Park which actually has a playground that is exactly perfect for Will. He had so much fun. Afterwards, we stopped by Prolific Oven for Samies. I will admit now we all shared a piece of their AMAZING Chocolate Rum cake. I made sure to eat slowly and I only ate the part I love most, FROSTING!!! Before I knew it, everyone else had finished it so I wasn't tempted to eat more than is reasonable.
For dinner we headed to Panera and then walked over to the grocery store. All in all, a very productive and fun day. Pam and Dave, so glad you could come!!!! Will loved every moment and so did we!
Today's Food Summary:
Breakfast:
2oz of Fresh Low-Fat Mozerella Cheese (120cal)
1Tbsp of Balsamic Vinigar (10cal)
1 small tomato (30cal)
Snack:
Lunch:
Prolific Garden Sami, sooo good (590cal)
A few bites of the pasta salad that came on the side (200cal)
A couple of bites of cake with frosting (300cal), I know this seems high, but I'd rather guess high than low.
Snack:
Dinner:
Watermelon (45cal)
Snack:
No Pinkberry tonight. Too much yummy food today meant I needed to let this one go for tonight!
BMR CALC: 1691-1845=-154 Surplus (I added 200cal for misc snitches of my little guy's food.)
(For an explanation please see Shelley: Day 1 Post) Also, I updated my BMR from 1760 to 1691. As I lose weight that number will continue to fall.
I didn't get much walking in today since we mostly bummed around the park but I'm going to try and talk Jason into a family walk tomorrow! I'm feeling pretty good that I didn't totally blow it considering I had family in town so I'm just going to let this one go and not flog myself. I have a very good day planned for tomorrow and I'm sticking to it!
Until tomorrow. . .

Katie Day 26
I love Fridays!! My morning was uneventful and relaxing. Dan had a long lunch break today and I really wanted to go out to eat, but I knew that we needed to save money and calories so we went home for lunch. I had my usual and it was good. This afternoon Dan played volleyball and James and I walked around the park for about 1/2 an hour before we sat down to cheer Daddy on! We had a nice time. After the game we went to costco. I was way hungry and so I will admit that I caved a little and ate 2 samples: fresh mozzarella cheese and a Chicken burger. Both were good, so good in fact that we bought the Chicken burger and grilled it up tonight for dinner. After dinner I made cupcakes! Now before we judge I made the 113 calorie cupcakes from Kaisi's blog. WOW they are awesome! I enjoyed them so much that I let Dan know that I would like them for my B-day cake. That way I can still enjoy B-day cake and stay on the wagon. Hopefully Dan can make them as good as I can :) This also means that we ALL get choco cupcakes in September!! Oh, and I am pleased to announce that I only had 1! Dan had 2 and I was very tempted but I drank water instead :) So here is what I ate today:
Breakfast : Cheerios, milk, raspberries 225 calories (I just bought cinnamon cheerios and can't wait to change up my breakfast tomorrow)
Lunch : My usual sandwich thin, plus 9 mini rice cakes, 1/4 cup raspberries 256 calories
Dinner : Sweet caramelized onion chicken burgers, 1 cup steamed squash 170 calories
Snacks : Fiber one brownie, Granola Bar (right after costco I had major munch issues),Cupcake, 1 cup milk, Granola Thin 553 calories
Exercise : Walking for 30 min burned 125 calories
I want to add that Kaisi I read your post from yesterday and don't worry I don't think any of us can judge. Your day sounded DELISH! My parents are coming into town next weekend and I am totally planning on putting my wagon in the garage for some repairs while they are here :) Besides I don't think that calories count when you are on vacation or when company is visiting! I like to think that way anyways:)
Until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!

Shelley: Day 25
Today was another busy one. My in-laws are visiting tomorrow until Saturday afternoon so there has been plenty of deep cleaning to do. But before I did what I should do, we played! We joined the baby playgroup ladies at the North Park pool and tried to enjoy the sun. If Will had been a little less nap deprived there would have been a lot more sun and way more fun!
No Snack, too on the move today.
I was so full from lunch I skipped this too.
My usual from Panera, Soup and Salad (340cal)
I stopped by Prolific Oven on my way over and grabbed a Prolific Garden (the yummiest sami ever!). Tons of veggies, no mayo or mustard necessary. I don't do it often because it's a little spendy for an everyday type of meal but it was a fun splurge (but fortunately not too much of a calorie splurge).
I was planning on taking another walk today but I would say my super intense cleaning definitely counted. I moved furniture, vacuumed, scrubbed, and polished for two hours. I worked up a quality sweat and actually think I worked harder than walking for sure.
Kaisi, as one who recently had lunch at In-N-Out I definitely won't be judging;). It's a good thing we are doing this until December though. Lots of time to get back on the wagon.
Today's Food Summary:
Breakfast:
Two slices of my special veggie pizza (250cal)
Raspberries (45cal)
Snack:
Lunch:
Prolific Garden Sami, sooo good (590cal)
Snack:
Dinner:
Raspberries (45cal)
Snack:
Pinkberry (100cal)
BMR CALC: 1691-1670=21 Deficit (I added 300cal for misc snitches of my little guy's food.)
(For an explanation please see Shelley: Day 1 Post) Also, I updated my BMR from 1760 to 1691. As I lose weight that number will continue to fall.
I did burn some extra calories today power cleaning but I can't say for sure exactly how many so I will just leave it at that. This is definitely getting more challenging as my BMR drops. I'm going to have to work harder at keeping my calorie count lower.
Until tomorrow. . .
Kaisi: Day 25
Man oh man! I had an AmAzInG day. That right there should tell you I had a day full of NON dieting! Yep, I BLEW IT today!. Words cannot express how much I do not want to be owning up to this right now, but that was the deal I made. I woke up and had my usual. It was delish, as always. Then it was 10:30 and it was all down hill from there. I was really hungry for lunch, but I had plans to do lunch with a girl friend of mine down here in San Diego at 1, so I thought I would just eat something to tide me over until then. I made a sandwich thin turkey sandwich and it did just that. For lunch she wanted to go to Islands, so to Islands we went. I wasn't really sure what that was, so if you were not either it's a really yummy burger place. I didn't do the worst I could do, but I didn't do the best either. I had a chicken sandwich with a cesar salad instead of fries. I know what your thinking, a chicken sandwich... not so bad?. YEAH RIGHT! 990 calories!!!! yIkEs!. And I didn't stop there.... We went shopping after that and I was regretting eating so much more then ever while trying on clothes!. I am in LOVE with my new clothes though, so there. Everything we did today was spur of the moment. So after we were done shopping we decided to die our hair. Yep, I am officially a brunette!. hahaha. Go big or go home right?. We went back to her mothers house to do the hair because we had full intentions of taking a swim after we were done (it was like 95' here today. SOOOOO HOT!) but we ended up taking for ever to do our hair, so it was dark by the time we finished and no longer hot. Her family is italian so you can guess pretty easily what we had for dinner, pasta and bread! Man it was yummy!. I don't even want to know how many calories was in it though. You would never guess I was on a diet today. Early lunch, big late lunch, pasta dinner and no workout!. i-i-iiiii!. Judge me, I deserve it! At least I had a blast doing it. Stats below...
Breakfast: 2 eggs, toasted sandwich thin, watermelon and milk.
Snack: Sandwich thin chicken sandwich.
Lunch: Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a cesar salad and 5 of Christine's french fries.
Dinner: Pasta with two slices of bread.
Workout: Shopping?. hahahaha, I wish!!!!!!!
Hopefully I can jump back on the diet bandwagon asap, because this vacation is just straight up killing me and tomorrow begins the weekend with my family.
I am wiped, until tomorrow..........
Breakfast: 2 eggs, toasted sandwich thin, watermelon and milk.
Snack: Sandwich thin chicken sandwich.

Katie Day 25
My little man is sound asleep and I am exhausted so this is going to be a quick entry. I had a very good day today! We woke up around 7:30 and Dan was just getting ready to leave for school, so we walked with him to school. Now I didn't want to but I am glad I did! When I got back from our walk I felt so invigorated! Then this afternoon we went swimming and had a really good time. I ate well and so tonight after dinner I still had 200 calories to spare! SO I decided to go to Pinkberry and splurge a little and have a mini chocolate/peanut butter swirl! I did and you know what, it was just ok. I actually like my healthier pink berry more. Crazy huh! I guess it is true that when you are eating healthy the healthy things actually do taste better to you. So yep next time I can splurge I don't think I will do it with pink berry since I really like the 100 calorie treat :) Here is what I ate today :
Breakfast : My usual 270 calories
Lunch : Chicken sandwich thin and 1/2 cup raspberries 202 calories
Dinner : Stuffed Green Pepper and 1/4 cup steamed squash 278 calories
Snacks : Fiber One Brownie, Yogurt, Wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese/15 Speical K Cracker Chips, Pinkberry 480 calories
Exercise : 3 mile walk and leisurely swimming Burned 591 calories
Until tomorrow . . . Happy Dieting!

Shelley: Day 24
So I have really struggled with whether or not to confess but I want to be honest with myself with means being honest with you. We had a great day at the pool with Katie and James and Will passed out on the way home. I was so hungry and In-N-Out was just too close. . .so, yes, I did it again. I did do it a bit smarter this time (protein style, etc) but I'm still a fool for caving.
As penance for my indiscretion I took Will for a two mile speed walk. Amazingly, I still only burned 200 calories which definitely didn't cover my cheat and also reminded me of just how much working out I would need to do to make up for such a mistake. However, I did find out I really LOVE Runkeeper, it's an Iphone App that tracks your run/walk, etc. and lets you know your pace and how many calories you are burning in addition to your distance. The free version is plenty robust for me and I really like it.
After our walk I headed to Costco to get a couple of things. Is it just me, or does the Costco on Kifer feel like a war zone at times? After I fought my way to the registers and back to our parking spot I was just relieved to be getting out of there. That has got to be one of the worst run Costco's in America (they are always out of stock on basics like paper plates, TP, etc. so annoying!), and it's dirty and poorly organized to boot. OK, Costco rant over, but Costco CEO's if you are reading this, please remodel, reorganize, and hire new management!
Jason helped my cousin work on the condo he purchased and is remodeling so it was a solo night for me and the mini. He got pretty snuggly for a little while which I LOVE.
I just want to say I am committing to do better tomorrow and plan to tighten up my eating.
Today's Food Summary:
Breakfast:
2oz Canned Chicken, 1tsp light ranch, dill relish and mustard to dress it up (200cal)
Snack:
Lunch:
In-N-Out Protein Style, I should have nixed the fries too but I didn't :( (885cal)
Snack:
Dinner:
Raspberries (20cal)
Snack:
Nada, too many calories today!
BMR CALC: 1691-1640=51 Deficit (I added 100cal for misc snitches of my little guy's food.)
(For an explanation please see Shelley: Day 1 Post) Also, I updated my BMR from 1760 to 1691. As I lose weight that number will continue to fall.
I did burn an extra 200 cal working out which makes my net deficit for today -251, not really big enough to keep me losing like I'd like to.
Until tomorrow. . .
